The Team

Josef Stafford, Co-host and Writer AND Mackenzie Taylor, Creative Director, Producer, Co-Host, and Co-Writer

Who are The Historical Natives?

Mackenzie Taylor (She/her) is an industrious worker, especially when she's passionate. Her traditional name is Nenookaasiwe Kwandibens-Spade from the Loon & Sturgeon clans. She studied interior design at Vancouver Island University due to her interest in the design world. An interest which she now uses to create most of the art for The Historical Natives. She spends much time researching and designing beings, planning schedules, creating marketing, and co-hosting and producing the podcast.

Josef Stafford (He/him) tends to be the more...relaxed...of the team. His traditional name is Ojiitch Kwandibens-Spade from the Loon & Sturgeon clans. He briefly studied interior design at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and later studies business administration at Camosun College. When he's not gaming, he leads the financial, IT, and writing aspects while also co-hosting the podcast.

Rowan Hynds (Any pronoun) assists in research and calls to action regarding the nations covered in each episode. She is an Anishinaabe/Irish Two-Spirit person from the Ma'ingan (Wolf) clan, and is born and raised on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples. Most of the time she is working as a legal assistant and pursuing creative outlets such as singing and painting.

Jacquelyn Carter (She/her) assists in designing products. She studied interior design at Vancouver Island University where she found new views on the world. With her upbringing in the Cowichan Valley and her passion for art and design, Jaquelyn has a deep appreciation to the Cowichan Tribes community and is happy to join this project.
